Rayon Baugh is a dynamic force within the gospel music landscape, imbued with authenticity and a profound sense of purpose. From the tender age of nine, Baugh felt the divine call to serve through music, penning his first song by twelve and gaining regional recognition with his breakout single “Keep Your Feet on the Ground” in 1992. This early success paved the way for his illustrious career marked by heartfelt albums, including “Keep Your Feet On The Ground”,”The Journey” and his transformative 2023 project “ACALL2WORSHIP.” Honoring a mission to convey the message of Jesus Christ, Rayon’s work is a testament to the power of worship in overcoming life’s struggles and discovering God’s love and purpose for his life.
Over the years, he has crafted a signature sound—a soulful reggae fusion inspired by legends like Bob Marley and Dennis Brown—infusing his songs with relatable themes and a unique cultural flair. Rayon collaborated with his wife, Carlene Baugh, on the uplifting “City of God,” a song born during the global upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic. Another impactful collaboration with gospel artist Glacia Robinson produced “The Battle is Won,” inspired by global conflicts and offering hope through divine reliance.
Rayon’s repertoire extends beyond music to writing, with his book “#ACall2Worship” serving as a spiritual manifesto that reflects his journey and divine insights. Published in 2019, the book engages readers in discovering the essence of true worship and augments the spiritual dialogue around his musical creations. “#ACALL2WORSHIP is a clarion call back to the reason why we were created. Worship is a lifestyle and not a onetime event,” Rayon said.
Thus far, Rayon’s ministry has touched countless lives through his church performances across Jamaica and the Caribbean, as well as features on Jamaican TV’s “SUNRISE.” His works are accessible through various online platforms, broadening his reach to global audiences.
Looking ahead, Rayon is dedicated to promoting his album “ACALL2WORSHIP” and its corresponding book, aiming for wider recognition through festivals and church events. His long-term vision is to leave a lasting legacy that guides and heals, offering a spiritual compass through music and literature for generations to come.
